Harry served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Liberia, Africa, from 1964-1966.

His dream was to one day bring his family to share the unique African experience that he had as a volunteer.

He first had to convince his wife (Joan).

In 1980 he was a Global Studies teacher at the Shenendehowa School District in Clifton Park, New York.

Marriage vows said “for better or for worse”, you be the judge.

Joan was a willing participant of this unique adventure and took care of all three children.

She states “having lived in an orphange for 5 years I can do anything.”

Mark was entering 7th grade in the United States. However, his parents had other plans…
